The Green Travel Challenge – A Local Conversation

You are warmly invited to The Green Travel Challenge – A Local Conversation in the early evening of Wednesday 13 October 2021.

The event will be held on Zoom and the formal session will run from 18.30-20.00 but you can join from 18.15 onwards

In both Glossopdale and Longdendale, traffic and its associated environmental degradation are key concerns for both visitors and residents. Our interviews with local people and visitors about their travel experiences in the locality gave us greater insight into the situation. In that context CPRE, with MTRU Transport Planning consultant Keith Buchan, has been developing measures that would address the intolerable traffic conditions and help address climate change.

Join us to discuss and inform our proposals – weight restriction for through-traffic of lorries, slower speeds, making space for walking and cycling, reshaping the bus services, affordable EV car and bike share/hire schemes and much more – at this interactive workshop.

This event is hosted by CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire.

We hope to see you there! Please do send the invite to other people you think might be interested.

Best wishes

Anne
